Bray Wanderers have signed Evan Osam following a spell at UCD.

The Seagulls swooped to pick up the experienced left-back who began his League of Ireland career at Shamrock Rovers Academy after joining from St Kevin's Boys in 2013.

The 26-year-old, son of Republic of Ireland Under-16 boss Paul, suffered a spell out of the game due to an injury suffered on international duty at the end of the 2015 season. That campaign had seen a successful loan spell at Shelbourne where he was voted on the PFAI First Division Team of the Season.

Osam joined UCD in 2017 and went on to be a fixture in the Students’ defence. He is approaching 200 senior appearances in Irish football and brings a wealth of experience having sampled the First Division, Premier Division, and Playoffs.

Joining Osam at The Carlisle Grounds for 2024 is goalkeeper Jimmy Corcoran. The 21-year-old Meathman arrives in Wicklow following a Premier Division campaign lining out for Cork City.

He previously worked with Bray Wanderers head coach Ian Ryan at Wexford in 2021 and made 20 appearances in the Premier Division for Cork City last season.

Having spent time with Cherry Orchard in his teens, he represented the Republic of Ireland Under-17s before joining Preston North End and returning to spend time with Dundalk during their Europa League Group Stages run in 2020.

The Wicklowmen also announced a quartet of re-signings with the return of Cole Omorehiomwan, Harry Groome, Ben Feeney, and Guillermo Almirall.

21-year-old former Shamrock Rovers Academy defender Omorehiomwan was influential at both ends of the pitch last season, netting 6 times across his 30 First Division games.

Former Shelbourne and Wexford midfielder Harry Groome (22) represented the club 32 times last season with 4 goals, while Ben Feeney, also 22, built on his breakout 2022 season with a 2023 campaign of 9 goals from 25 games.

The Seagulls also confirmed the return of Spanish midfielder Guillermo Almirall for 2024.
