Cobh Ramblers appoint Gary Hunt as first-team manager
First Division promotion hopefuls Cobh Ramblers have confirmed Gary Hunt will take over as their new first-team manager ahead of the 2024 season.
Hunt takes charge of the Rams after Shane Keegan left his role as boss earlier this month citing increased work commitments outside of football.
And the Uefa Pro License candidate joins Cobh having recently served on the Waterford backroom team under Keith Long.
He also served as interim manager for a spell during his stint involved with the first-team at the RSC.
“After speaking to the club I was impressed at the progress Cobh has made both on and off the pitch, especially the development of St Colman’s Park,” he said.
“I have had an excellent few seasons with Waterford and although it was a difficult decision to make after promotion, my own personal ambition is to become a head coach.
“I am excited with the challenge this brings and I am looking forward to working hard alongside the club, the fans, the board, the volunteers and the players and the staff to help Cobh Ramblers be competitive in the First Division for the 2024 season.
“Having worked in the First Division over the past number of seasons I know what the league is all about and hopefully those experiences will help in the year ahead with Cobh.
“I have a busy few weeks ahead prior to returning for pre-season and I’m looking forward to it all.”
