First Division play-off hopefuls Longford Town have confirmed the re-signings of trio Jack Brady, Kyle O’Connor and Aaron Walsh for 2024.

And the trio will be joined by Dean O’Shea, their latest recruit from Treaty United.

De Town have already snapped up Jordan Tallon and Dean George from the Shannonsiders this off-season.

But the return of Brady and O’Connor will provide boss Stephen Henderson with a welcome boost ahead of the club’s centenary year.

26-year-old keeper Brady joined De Town from Treaty United last year and went on to make over 33 league appearances for the club in 2023 - and collected ten clean sheets.

Only O’Connor made the same number of appearances for the Red and Black - and he too caught the eye after joining from Shelbourne in January.

But Longford - like they did with Brady - had to fend off a number of suitors to retain the 20-year-old.

And they will be supplemented by promising central defender Walsh who will be keen to put his injury woes of 2023 behind him.

The former Loughgall defender played ten times for the Red and Black this year but did feature regularly when he was fit and available to play.

The Dubliner will be aided in defence by new recruit O’Shea who joins from Treaty.

O’Shea, 21, joins Longford after prior stints with Bray Wanderers, Athlone Town, Galway United and Maynooth University Town.
