Waterford secure services of Ryan Burke for 2024

Former Bohemians full-back Ryan Burke has penned a new deal to keep him at Waterford ahead of the 2024 season.

Burke, 23, joined the Blues ahead of the 2023 campaign under former boss Danny Searle before working under Keith Long for most of the year.

And he impressed under Long by being named in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year.

But he is hoping to kick on again in the top-flight next year.

“We all know the challenge of next season playing in the Premier Division,” the former Birmingham City defender said. 

“Everybody knows it’s a very strong league but it’s a challenge I’m really looking forward to. 

“We have got a great bunch of lads, and a very good coaching staff who have plenty of experience of the Premier Division, which is excellent and we know how important that will be.”

“The fans are quality and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of a packed RSC every week again.

“I’m delighted we could bring back Premier Division football for them and the club.”
