First Division Longford Town have completed moves for Treaty United duo Jordan Tallon and Dean George - while also securing the services of winger Luke Wade-Slater from Drogheda.

Stephen Henderson has also re-signed a host of players, including skipper Shane Elworthy, Dylan Hand, Adam Wixted, Francis Campbell, Oisin Hand and Bastien Hery.

Tallon, 22, made five appearances for Treaty after joining them from Wexford midway through the season just gone.

And while he was at Wexford, he made almost 30 senior bows for the Ferrycarrig Park outfit after coming through the ranks at Shamrock Rovers as a teenager.

Tallon was also part of the Shamrock Rovers II team that lined out in the First Division during the 2020 campaign.

“I was really impressed with Longfords form at the end of last season and showed they were going in the right direction,” the defender said.

“I’ve had a few chats with Stephen and he has great qualities in being open and approachable but also a great man manager as well which I hold massively as a player.”

And he has been joined at the club by his former Treaty teammate George who established himself as a fans favourite at the Market’s Field.

Lining out under Tommy Barrett after prior stints with Wexford and Athlone, the forward made 73 appearances for the Shannonsiders and scored 17 goals. He also picked up nine assists.

“I spoke with the gaffer as soon as the season was over,” the Dubliner added.

“His energy and his enthusiasm for the upcoming season was infectious. From that very first phone call I knew I wanted to play under him.”

And winger Wade-Slater also joins after a recent stint with Drogheda United.

The former Wolves trainee was also on the books of Stevenage in the UK before returning home to play for Bohemians.

He also played in the Northern Irish top-flight with Larne and Warrenpoint Town.

Wade-Slater made seven appearances for Drogheda United this year.

And he is set to link up with his former Warrenpoint teammates Wixted and Hand who have also signed up for another year at Bishopsgate.

Captain Elworthy is also staying on for another year at the club, which is set to be his seventh after joining at the end of the 2017 season.

Talented pair Campbell and Oisin Hand will also be looking to make their respective marks in 2024 after enduring injury-hit campaigns.

And they will be joined by midfielder Hery who made 10 appearances for the club at the end of last season.
