Robbie McCourt returns to Waterford after stint with Dundalk
Waterford have unveiled the return of Robbie McCourt for their Premier Division return.
McCourt, 25, re-joins the Blues from Dundalk after spending the last season-and-a-half with the Lilywhites. He also played for Sligo Rovers before moving to Oriel Park.
But McCourt was last at the RSC during the 2020 season when Waterford came fifth in the top-flight.
“I’m buzzing to be back,” he told Waterford’s website.
“It took a few weeks to get done, but I’m excited to get going for next season now.
“I know Keith quite well. I played under him for a couple of seasons at Bohs; he’s the manager who gave me my first-team debut.
“I know him well and he knows me well, so I know what’s to come from him.”
McCourt worked with boss Keith Long initially when he returned home from the UK, and the Blues boss is pleased to work with him again.
“We’re delighted to welcome Robbie to the club for his second spell,” he said.
“He did well in his first spell at the club so we’re hoping for a similar type of impact this coming season in the Premier Division.”
