Adam Foley has extended his contract with Drogheda United, continuing his journey with the club after a successful season.

Since his transfer from Finn Harps in 2022, Foley has made 57 appearances for the team, establishing himself as a key player in Kevin Doherty's squad.

In the previous season, Foley was a standout performer, finishing as the top scorer with nine goals in 33 appearances.

Foley expressed his satisfaction with the contract extension.

“I’m delighted to get it done. I’ve been speaking to Kevin for a while, waiting to figure out the situation with the takeover, but once the contract offer was there, it was signed straight away," he said.

“I felt good last season. I made slight adjustments off the pitch to make sure I could maximise my performance on the pitch. I’ll be doing the same again, and hopefully I can contribute more goals and assists, helping the team as much as I can,” Foley explained.

Apart from his on-field contributions, Foley, a resident of the town, has also been involved in coaching Drogheda's Men’s U17 side.

“I was at the club six days a week last year. It was quite demanding, but I’m going to be solely focusing on the playing side this year, aiming for another successful season, and see where that takes us,” Foley added.

Manager Kevin Doherty shared his enthusiasm about Foley's contract renewal.

“I’m delighted to have Adam signed for next season. He had an excellent season last season and ended up being our top scorer. He contributed massively, both on and off the pitch. His experience is vital in the group that we have,” Doherty remarked.
