Thijs Timmermans among trio to depart St Patrick’s Athletic
Midfielder Thijs Timmermans is set to leave St Patrick’s Athletic upon the expiry of his current deal at the club.
The Dutchman established himself as a fan favourite at Richmond Park during his spell in the League of Ireland and leaves the Saints alongside Serge Atakayi and Harry Brockbank.
Timmermans although struggled to break into the St Pat’s starting XI in recent months having made just 18 league appearances for the club.
He also featured against F91 Dudelange for the Saints as they bowed out of the Europa Conference League at the first hurdle.
Atakayi leaves St Pat’s after a stop-start spell at the club that which ended after he returned from Waterford on loan.
The former Rangers winger played over 20 times for the Saints and scored four goals - the most notable of which being against CSKA Sofia in the 2022/23 Europa Conference League qualifiers.
And defender Brockbank has also left following an injury-hit end to his time at the club.
The former Bolton Wanderers defender, 25, played just six times in the league for the Inchicore side in 2023.
