Ramblers make loan signing

Cobh Ramblers manager Stephen Henderson last week told extratime.ie that he planned to sign a new player in the coming week to strengthen his sides squad.
The deal has now been done. Young centre back Brian McCarthy has joined the club on loan from Bohemians until July. The deal will be reviewed in the summer and Cobh are thought to have the option of extending the loan until the end of the season.
McCarthy made his debut for Athlone against Shamrock Rovers in March 2006 and impressed during his twenty three appearances last season. Before the start of this season he spent some time on trial with English Premiership side Portsmouth before signing for Bohemians.
Cork native McCarthy is not available for Cobh's game against UCD but will be included in the squad for Ramblers next away game against Bray.
