Galway United have announced that midfielder Aodh Dervin has re-signed for the club ahead of the start of the 2024 season.

Aodh played with Longford Town's U17 squad for the 2015 and 2016 seasons and in January 2017 he was promoted to Alan Mathews' senior squad for the club's First Division campaign.

He spent five seasons in Longford's first team, leaving at the end of 2021 to join Shelbourne.

After one season at Tolka Park, he returned to Longford on loan, joining Stephen Henderson's squad just days before the start of 2023.

The 24-year-old Longford native then went on to sign for Galway United in July 2023 during the transfer window and then made the starting XI on 26 occasions for the club this year, 23 in the league and a further three in the FAI Cup.
