Keith Ward to depart Dundalk

Premier DIvision Dundalk have confirmed that attacking midfielder Keith Ward is set to leave the club.

Ward, 33, departs the Oriel Park outfit having completed the most recent of his three stints with the Lilywhites.

He played for the club in 2011, the 2013 and 2014 seasons before returning at the start of the 2022 campaign.

And during that second stint, Ward’s appearances were limited to the bench as he started just 11 league fixtures for Stephen O’Donnell’s men.

He made a further 25 bows off the bench.

And on Friday, the former UCD and Bohemians star’s exit was confirmed.

“Keith Ward’s third stint at the club has come to an end following the expiration of his contract,” a Dundalk statement read.

“One of the league’s greatest characters, the place will certainly be a lot quieter without him. Best of luck, Wardy. You’ll always be welcome at Oriel.”

Meanwhile, Finn Harps have confirmed they will listen to offers for Ryan Flood and Seamas Keogh.

Harps are set to return to a hybrid training model next season - but both players have expressed a desire to move to full-time clubs instead.

“The Club have spoken to both Ryan Flood and Seamas Keogh ahead of the 2024 season,” a statement read.

“Both players expressed that they would prefer to work in full-time environments. Reluctantly, the club are willing to speak with interested parties.”

If both depart, they would Daniel Stokoe on the departures list at Finn Park.
