Drogheda United members endorse 100% sale to Trivela Group

Drogheda United’s membership have endorsed a 100% acquisition of the club by the Trivela Group. 

The club’s members met on Monday evening to vote on the proposal, needing a 75% majority for it to pass. 

And the vote was passed by 91 total votes, with 90 in favour of it and just one against. 

Before the meeting, 59 votes were cast by proxy leaving a further 85 potential votes to be made on the night. 

The endorsement required 75% of all votes cast to pass but sailed through with the overwhelming majority when a further 32 people voted on the night.

And in a statement, the club said: “Chairperson Joanna Byrne thanked those in attendance and told them they had made history in casting their votes. 

“She believed they had paved the way for the best version of Drogheda United the town has ever seen.”
