League Preview: Shamrock Rovers -v- Drogheda United
SHAMROCK ROVERS
Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley is wary of the threat that Drogheda United will pose to his side when the two teams square off at Tallaght Stadium on Sunday night (kick-off is at 8pm).
The Boynesiders are yet to be beaten by the Hoops this season in the league.
And on their last visit to Tallaght Stadium they won, so Bradley is fully aware of their qualities.
“Drogheda are very efficient in the final third of the pitch,” he told shamrockrovers.ie.
“They’ve shown that and we saw it throughout the season.
“Kevin Doherty has done a brilliant job and they have a really honest and hard-working group of players and they have good quality in the final third.
“We know it’s a difficult game and we have to be ruthless when we get our opportunities against Drogheda.”
Jack Byrne is out for the rest of the season for Rovers while Sean Kavanagh is a doubt.
DROGHEDA UNITED
Kevin Doherty’s side head to Dublin 24 on Sunday night without a host of key first-team players.
Ryan Brennan and Dylan Grimes are both out for the Drogs while Dayle Rooney has been rated as a doubt.
Conor Keeley is also suspended with Michael Leddy unavailable to play due to the terms of his loan with the Hoops.
But United are unbeaten against Rovers this season, drawing twice and winning once.
And their victory came at Tallaght Stadium in May when Rooney and now former on-loan striker Freddie Draper both scored.
They will be confident going to South Dublin despite their injury woes.
Referee: Robert Harvey.
