Twenty players from the Ireland Women’s Under-17 team are set to embark on their journey to Poland to participate in the 2023-24 UEFA European WU17 Championship Round 1 Qualifiers.

Head Coach James Scott aims high for his team, setting sights on clinching the top spot in Group A2.

The Irish team will be up against Norway on October 12, followed by games against Iceland on October 15, and the host nation Poland on October 18.

The squad recently enjoyed a preparatory trip to Portugal, where they played "together as a new group for the first time in three difficult games" and are believed to have garnered substantial confidence from this experience.

Among the players selected for this journey are rising stars from the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, namely the Cork City pair of Clodagh Fitzgerald and Kiera Sena.

The spotlight also shines on Shelbourne's Rebecca Devereux, who recently stunned with a remarkable goal against Shamrock Rovers.

Additionally, three squad members are enrolled in the newly inaugurated FAI / Fingal Girls’ TY Course.

Their first match is set for Thursday afternoon kickoff.
