Darren Murphy set to stay on as Finn Harps interim manager
First Division strugglers Finn Harps have confirmed that Darren Murphy will stay on as their interim manager for the rest of the season.
Murphy previously acted as assistant to former boss Dave Rogers.
But following Rogers’ departure from the role last week, Murphy assumed the duties as interim manager before their game against Galway United.
And while Harps were edged out 1-0 by the Tribesmen, Murphy will stay on for the rest of the season.
He will be assisted by Tommy Canning and Kevin McHugh in his role.
“Darren Murphy will continue as interim manager of Finn Harps for the remaining games in the 2023 season, starting with Kerry FC at home on Friday night,” a Harps statement read.
“Finn Harps Head of Academy Kevin McHugh and Former Harps U19 Manager Tommy Canning, most recently of Dergview FC, have joined the backroom team for the remainder of the campaign.
“The board of the club will conduct a review in the coming weeks to put in place a process to appoint a management team for the 2024 season and beyond.”
