Galway United set for home FAI Cup semi-final with Cork City drawn to face St Pat’s

Galway United have been drawn to face Bohemians at home in the FAI Cup semi-final.

The First Division league leaders will be seeking to reach the Aviva Stadium when the Leinster Senior Cup holders visit the Corribsiders.

And Bohs will be wary of the threat that John Caulfield’s men will pose.

The Tribesmen blitzed Dundalk in the last round of the competition with a stunning 4-0 victory at Eamonn Deacy Park.

Stephen Walsh, David Hurley, Ed McCarthy and Maurice Nugent were all on target for United against the lacklustre Lilywhites.

But Bohs too will be confident having seen off Drogheda United 3-1 in the previous round – with Jonathan Afolabi brace sending them on their way.

Meanwhile, Cork City have been drawn to take on St Patrick’s Athletic at home.

Liam Buckley’s men defeated Wexford 2-1 in the last round and will be eyeing a return to the Aviva Stadium when they welcome the Saints to Richmond Park.#

Jon Daly’s men defeated Finn Harps away in the last round of the competition thanks to a 2-1 win in Ballybofey.

Tommy Lonergan and Chris Forrester both scored for the Athletic after Harps took a 1-0 lead during the first-half.

Both ties will played on the weekend ending October 8th.
