Bohemians secure Leinster Senior Cup crown with win over Usher Celtic

Bohemians have claimed the Leinster Senior Cup thanks to a convincing 5-0 win over Leinster Senior League opponents Usher Celtic.

Competing in their first final, Usher had their moments at Dalymount Park but were unable to keep up with Bohs in front of 3,093 supporters in Dublin 7.

Jake McCormack gave the hosts an early first-half lead with a ninth minute strike before Declan McDaid doubled their advantage six minutes before the break.

But Bohs kicked on during the early stages of the second half with three goals scored during a 13-minute spell.

Kris Twardek netted in the 53rd minute while Chris Lotefa found his scoring touch with a goal just ten minutes later to make it 4-0.

And from the resulting kick-off Ali Coote got in on the act to put the gloss on a five-star Bohemians victory.

Their success means the record Leinster Senior Cup holders have won the trophy for the first time since 2016.

They beat Wexford Youths in that final under Keith Long.
