CORK CITY

Cork City have a break from their relegation fight when they welcome Wexford to Turner’s Cross on Friday at 7.45pm.

The Leeside club are just two games away from a return to the Aviva Stadium despite their struggles in the league this season.

Their last game before the international break saw them win their first match in ten games.

That victory over Sligo Rovers allowed them to gain ground on the side above them.

Malik Dijksteel is available for selection again after serving a ban against Sligo. Jaze Kabia and Tunde Owolabi will compete to partner hat-trick hero Ruairi Keating up front.

WEXFORD

Wexford travel across the south coast in good spirits as one of the form sides at the moment in the First Division.

They have put some distance between themselves and the sides just outside the play-offs in the race for the final spot.

Having gone behind just before half time to Treaty United at Markets Field, they came back strong in the second-half via Danny Furlong and Kian Corbally. It is now just one loss in eight.

Aaron Robinson and Conor Levingston have made a gradual return to fitness in recent weeks whilst Brandon McCann will be hoping to shake off the knock that sidelined him last weekend.

Referee: Eoghan O’Shea.

MATCH STATS

Both sides came up against each other four times in City’s successful promotion season.

Each game at Ferrycarrig Park brought three points to the away side as they overcame their hosts thanks to goals early on.

Wexford proved a tougher nut to crack at Turners Cross and came away with a point on each visit.

The final of these helped seal the title for the home side, however. Both sides have played sides who are lower than their own league in the competition so far.
