Stevenage secures Tottenham's Harvey White and Tranmere's Kane Hemmings
In a last-minute hustle before the summer transfer window closed, Stevenage announced they had successfully inked deals with Tottenham Hotspur's Harvey White and Tranmere Rovers' Kane Hemmings.
Harvey White, the 21-year-old midfielder, is now a permanent member of Stevenage FC.
The young talent, who initially broke into the senior scene with Spurs in November 2020, comes with an impressive track record, including loan stints at Portsmouth and Derby County.
The club expressed its delight over securing White's services, especially after facing stiff competition with multiple offers on the table.
Chairman Phil Wallace remarked, “We’ve seen a lot of Harvey over the years with Spurs U21s playing at The Lamex Stadium, and we’re delighted to conclude this late deal to join us on a permanent transfer.”
Stevenage also welcomed Kane Hemmings, a seasoned 31-year-old striker, into its fold.
Hemmings had contributed of 25 goals in 62 games for Tranmere Rovers while, over the years, he's left his mark playing for clubs like Burton Albion, Notts County, Mansfield Town, Oxford United, and Barnsley.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time manager Steve Evans and Hemmings have crossed paths.
The forward previously played under Evans during the 2017/18 season at Mansfield Town, where he impressed by netting 15 goals in 37 appearances.
