League Preview: Wexford -v- Finn Harps
WEXFORD
James Keddy’s Wexford welcome First Division strugglers Finn Harps to Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Slaneysiders have been in good form over recent weeks and sit on 38 points – four points clear of sixth placed Longford Town.
But their win last weekend against Athlone Town was the most significant of all.
Goals from Darragh Levingston and Thomas Oluwa gave them a victory – which moves them to within a point of Athlone.
And they are also set to be boosted in the coming weeks with the return of Aaron Robinson imminent. They have no other suspension issues.
FINN HARPS
With their play-off hopes hanging on by a thread, Harps know that they must win against Wexford if they are to pull themselves back into contention.
The Co Donegal side were beaten 1-0 at home by Longford Town last weekend with a first-half Cristian Magerusan strike the difference between the two teams.
And to compound the misery on Harps, defender Matthew Makinson was sent off. That means he will miss the trip to Wexford.
But if Harps win they could close the gap on Wexford to as few as six points with seven games left to play.
And they have already won at Ferrycarrig Park this season, winning 1-0 at the venue in April.
Referee: Jason Moore.
