Sheffield United have bolstered their ranks with the acquisition of their seventh summer signing.

Tom Davies, the 25-year-old midfielder previously with Everton, is the latest addition to the Blades' lineup.

Bringing with him a rich vein of Premier League experience, Davies has committed to a three-year tenure at Bramall Lane.

His move to Sheffield follows the conclusion of his contract at Goodison Park, joining the Blades on a free transfer.

Davies expressed his delight on joining Sheffield, stating, "I'm made up to be here and can't wait to get started."

Reflecting on his decision to shift from Everton, he remarked, "It was time for me to go from the previous club to join Sheffield United. I'm excited about the project here and I’m full of enthusiasm."

Commenting on the allure of the Premier League, Davies shared, "Playing against the best teams and the best players is a unique experience, and when Sheffield United approached me, I was convinced this is where I wanted to be."

The Liverpool-born midfielder reminisced about his time at Bramall Lane, "Playing here during Covid was an experience, albeit a silent one. Now, I eagerly await the chance to perform in front of a roaring crowd and show the fans my capabilities."

Davies' footballing journey is closely intertwined with Everton, a club he joined at age 11.

His first appearance for the Toffees' senior team came in 2016. By 2018, he'd carved his name into the club's history, becoming its youngest-ever captain at 20 years and 60 days, overtaking a record set in 1983.

Davies' growth was further evidenced by his accolades at Everton, clinching awards like Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season in the 2016/17 season.

His journey with the English national teams has seen him don the jersey for the youth squads 62 times, 23 of which were with the U21s.

Reflecting on his most recent campaign, Davies made 20 appearances for Everton across competitions and boasts a resume featuring over 150 Premier League matches.

Paul Heckingbottom, Sheffield United's chief, had words of high praise for the new recruit, noting, "Tom is someone we've long admired. We've always been keen on bringing him aboard and are thrilled to now call him a Blade."

"His Premier League experience, coupled with his undeniable energy, work ethic, and physicality, makes him an invaluable addition to our squad."
