Leicester City secure loan for Cesare Casadei from Chelsea
Leicester City has struck a deal to bring in young midfielder Cesare Casadei on loan from Chelsea, with the agreement set to last until the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
Casadei, 20, is fresh from his impressive stint with the Italian Under-20 side in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Argentina.
Not only did he aid his side in reaching the final, but his performances also saw him securing both the Golden Ball and Golden Boot awards.
After beginning his football journey with Inter Milan in 2018, Casadei honed his skills for four years in the Nerazzurri’s youth academy.
His potential was unmistakably apparent, leading Premier League giants Chelsea to snap him up in August 2022.
Despite his young age, Casadei has already donned the Italian jersey in various youth levels, amassing 34 caps for the youth teams.
Now, as he moves to Leicestershire, the midfielder will don the no.7 shirt for the Foxes.
When interviewed by LCFC.com, an enthusiastic Cesare shared, “I feel really good. I’m really happy to be here, I’m excited and I can’t wait to get started. Obviously, Leicester is a big team so I’m here to win and to do as well as possible to fight and to work hard for this team.”
