TG4 has confirmed its commitment to broadening the reach of the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, announcing plans to televise a game each week for the next eight rounds of fixtures.

The forthcoming weekend match will showcase the "Dublin Duel", pitting league leaders Peamount United against Bohemians.

Scheduled for a 19:35 kickoff on Saturday, August 19, this game marks the restart of the League after its mid-season hiatus.

Subsequent live matches for September have been unveiled, including Sligo Rovers vs. Wexford Youths on September 2, Galway United vs. DLR Waves on September 9, and Wexford Youths vs. Shamrock Rovers on September 30.

Spórt TG4’s Sacar Beo, steered by presenter Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh will continue its trend of in-depth football analysis.

Additionally, exclusive content and behind-the-scenes coverage will be available across Spórt TG4’s social platforms and for global viewers via the TG4 Player App.

Reflecting on the season, four games have already been showcased on TG4.

These include a stalemate between Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers in March, Athlone Town's triumph over Wexford Youths in April, Bohemians' win over Athlone in May, and Peamount United's June victory against Shamrock Rovers.

By the season’s end, TG4 is set to air 12 of the Women’s Premier Division games.

“We wish to thank the FAI for giving TG4 the opportunity to showcase the Women’s Premier Division on free-to-air television. We are really looking forward to all the soccer action these next few months," remarked Rónán Ó Coisdealbha, TG4’s Head of Sport.

He also highlighted the channel’s third consecutive year of airing top-tier women's club soccer in Ireland and mentioned the upcoming "Underdogs" series focusing on women's football in TG4's autumn lineup.

In a statement, League of Ireland Director, Mark Scanlon, echoed the sentiment. “This is proving to be quite a special year for women and girls’ football in Ireland, at all levels of the game... The title race remains wide open and that is testament to the quality of so many teams in the League,” Scanlon commented.

On a scheduling note, Galway United's matches against Cork City on August 19 and Peamount United on November 4 have been adjusted for a 17:00 kickoff.
