West Ham United has bolstered their squad with the acquisition of James Ward-Prowse, the England international, from Southampton.

The 28-year-old midfielder has signed a contract that will keep him at the London Stadium until June 2027.

Ward-Prowse, who will don the No. 7 jersey, expressed his enthusiasm about the move: “I’m buzzing to be here at West Ham United. It’s great to be here and I’m looking forward to getting going."

He further acknowledged the upward trajectory of the Hammers, stating, “From the outside looking in, this is a club that has been on the rise for a number of years now."

The midfielder emphasized his commitment to the team ethos, promising, "I feel as though I will fit straight in and I can promise I will give my all for this football club in my time here.”

David Moyes, the team's manager, expressed his satisfaction with the signing, stating, “I’m delighted to bring a player of James’ quality and experience to West Ham United.”

Moyes emphasized Ward-Prowse’s consistent Premier League performance, adding, “His leadership qualities are obviously another huge plus for us – he’ll be a big voice for us, someone who drives the team on from the middle of the pitch.”

James Ward-Prowse began his football journey with Southampton, joining their ranks at the tender age of eight.

Making his senior debut at 16, he quickly established himself as a mainstay in the Saints' midfield.

His tally stands at 55 goals and 54 assists in 410 appearances across all competitions.

The midfielder’s ability with set-pieces has earned him a reputation as one of the Premier League's finest in this domain.

His efforts on the field were recognized when he was named Southampton’s Player of the Year in consecutive seasons.

On the international front, Ward-Prowse debuted for the senior England team in 2017 and has since added 11 caps to his name.
