Spurs snap up Argentine forward Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Alejo Veliz, the centre-forward from Rosario Central, committing to a contract with the club until 2029.
The 19-year-old striker hails from Gödeken, Argentina and joined Rosario Central's Under-20 side before making his first team debut in 2021.
Within a short span, Veliz has accumulated 62 appearances for the Primera Division team, finding the net 19 times.
Internationally, he has already showcased his talent for Argentina at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup and the Under-20 South American Championship this year, where he netted three goals in nine games.
He further impressed by scoring in every group match for Argentina in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, though the team was later eliminated by Nigeria.
Veliz will be joining a team that includes his compatriots and World Cup winners, Gio Lo Celso and Cuti Romero.
