Tino Livramento signs with Newcastle United from Southampton
Newcastle United has officially signed England under-21 defender, Valentino Livramento, from Southampton.
The 20-year-old full-back, often referred to as Tino, has joined for an undisclosed fee and has inked a contract that will see him at the Magpies until the summer of 2028.
Born in South London, Livramento began his professional journey with Chelsea's youth system. He was named Chelsea's Academy Player of the Year in 2021.
That same summer, he transferred to Southampton, where he made an immediate impact. In his inaugural season, he made 28 Premier League appearances before an injury halted his progress.
Now, after two seasons at Southampton's St. Mary's, Livramento has moved to St. James' Park, aligning himself with Eddie Howe's side for the 2023/24 domestic and UEFA Champions League campaigns.
Speaking on the move, Livramento stated: "I'm really excited to have signed for Newcastle United and I'm looking forward to playing in front of the fans."
He expressed admiration for the way the team plays and voiced anticipation for "playing in front of [the fans] in a Premier League or Champions League game."
Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, praised Livramento, saying: "Tino is a very talented young player with an exciting future ahead of him so we are delighted to sign him."
