KERRY

Basement battlers Kerry welcome Cobh Ramblers to Mounthawk Park on Monday night as they continue their search for a first home league win of the season (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Kingdom have been a work in progress throughout this season and have improved considerably since their opening round of fixtures.

But they are still well behind at the foot of the table.

They have won just once in the league and that came away to Athlone Town on the road – a 3-2 win.

And they are yet to win a home league game this term but they will be keen for it to arrive sooner rather than later.

In fact, they have won at home this year but that victory came against Ringmahon Rangers in the FAI Cup last month.

However, they have picked up points against Treaty United and Finn Harps already at home so they will be keen to take another point when the Rams visit.

COBH RAMBLERS

Shane Keegan’s side come into this game off the back of another big result in their quest to secure a play-off for the first time since the 2016 season.

And while they drew at home to Wexford, it was a significant point given the circumstances of the game at St Colman’s Park.

Ramblers were 2-0 down after a wretched opening half-hour display but they eventually fought back to claim an unlikely point.

And they now sit on 40 points in third place which is nine points more than sixth placed Bray Wanderers.

With many of their play-off foes set to meet one another before they play against Kerry, there is a good chance that Cobh could move even further clear in their bid to secure a play-off position.

Referee: Oliver Moran.
