Luton Town has announced the signing of Belgian goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski from Championship side Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The 30-year-old player, who was named Player of the Year in his debut season in England, brings with him the experience of three European top-flight titles.

Kaminski's arrival marks the seventh new player to join Kenilworth Road this summer.

Kaminski himself is excited about his new journey: "The Premier League is the best league in the world, to play in the Premier League is a dream for every footballer and it’s unbelievable to be here."

The goalkeeper's career started with youth ranks at Gent in Belgium, later playing with Germinal Beerschot and OH Leuven.

He joined Belgian giants Anderlecht in 2012, but was loaned to teams in Cyprus and FC Copenhagen, where he was part of a Danish league and cup-winning squad in the 2015/16 season.

With Anderlecht, Kaminski contributed to two Belgian league titles in 2013 and 2014, and three consecutive Super Cups from 2012 to 2014. He also made his Champions League debut in the 2013/14 season.

Kaminski then joined Kortrijk as a regular goalkeeper for three seasons, and later returned to Gent.

In his two seasons there, he was part of the team that finished runners-up to champions Club Brugge in the 2019/20 season.

Kaminski then moved to Blackburn Rovers, where he was named Player of the Year in his debut season.

Though he has yet to make a senior cap for Belgium, Kaminski has been part of the Belgium senior squad on several occasions, including at EURO 2020.
