Oxford United have successfully acquired Liverpool forward Max Woltman, for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old player, who joined Liverpool at the age of five and made his senior debut against Milan in the Champions League in 2021, has now committed to Oxford United.

Woltman, who had a loan spell at Doncaster Rovers last season, trained with Oxford earlier in the summer and impressed during two appearances as a trialist.

Oxford's Head Coach, Liam Manning, commented on the young forward's attributes: "From the first day you could see he was technically very good: you would expect that from someone with his pedigree growing up and playing the Liverpool way. But he also has a fantastic attitude and a real hunger to be part of what we are building here."

Woltman also expressed his eagerness to join Oxford, saying: "I was made to feel part of things very quickly. This is a very talented squad and the coaches have been first class with me. I like the setup, like the way they want to play the game and I'm really looking forward to it."

Ed Waldron, Head of Recruitment, highlighted Woltman's potential as a player:

"He is an exciting player to watch and has grown up at Anfield, so he has a fantastic background. He can play as an attacking midfielder or slightly further forward, and the key word here is potential."

Woltman, who will wear the number 27 shirt, is United’s eighth signing of the summer.

Other new arrivals include James Beadle, Fin Stevens, Jordan Thorniley, Josh McEachran, Stanley Mills, Ruben Rodrigues, and Mark Harris.
