Bolton Wanderers secure Paris Maghoma on season-long loan from Brentford
Bolton Wanderers have continued their summer transfer window activity by securing the loan signing of 22-year-old Paris Maghoma from Brentford.
The Premier League midfielder joins the Whites on a season-long loan deal, becoming their eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
The addition of Maghoma comes on the heels of the recent signing of forward Carlos Mendes Gomes from fellow top-flight outfit Luton Town.
Paris Maghoma, a product of Tottenham Hotspur's Academy, has represented England up to the U20 level.
Although he has not yet made a senior appearance for Brentford since his move from Spurs in August 2020, he played a crucial role in Brentford’s successful B Team before advancing to the first-team squad. Last season saw him on loan at AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons.
Maghoma featured in a total of 24 games for League Two side Wimbledon before moving up a division with MK Dons for the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.
Born in Enfield, Maghoma, whose brothers Jacques and Christian both had EFL careers, now gets an opportunity to further his career with the Wanderers.
Commenting on the signing, Wanderers' boss Evatt said, “He’s someone we’ve monitored closely throughout his loans and we’re delighted to have him with us. He’s got an excellent background in terms of where he has started his career and then gained really good experience last season, including a significant number of games in League One."
"He has got a bit of everything and will strengthen our midfield options and add to the competition for places going into the season.”
Maghoma participated in training with his new teammates on Monday and will don the squad number 19 for the Whites.
