Sheffield Wednesday sign defender Di’Shon Bernard from Manchester United
Sheffield Wednesday have secured the signing of international defender Di’Shon Bernard.
The 22-year-old comes to Hillsborough on a permanent transfer deal, having developed his skills at Chelsea and Manchester United.
Bernard began his youth career at Chelsea before moving to Manchester United at the age of 16.
He made his senior debut for the Red Devils in the Europa League group stages against Astana.
Bernard spent six years at Old Trafford, where he gained valuable first-team experience during loan spells in all three EFL divisions with Salford City, Hull City, and Portsmouth.
Hailing from Wandsworth, Bernard is known for his ball-playing skills as a central defender.
Beyond his club career, Bernard has also made strides on the international stage. He has already earned four caps for Jamaica, having made his debut against Qatar in June. Bernard was also part of the final squad for the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Bernard's signing marks Sheffield Wednesday's fifth new recruit of the transfer window. He joins Reece James, Juan Delgado, Ashley Fletcher, and Pol Valentin as the latest additions to the squad at Hillsborough.
