Brighton and Hove Albion have announced that Marc Leonard has signed a new contract with the club.

The midfielder’s new deal with the club runs until June 2025 with a club option for an extra year. The 21 year old has gone out on loan to Northampton Town having spent the 2022/23 season with the Cobblers as they won promotion to League One.

"Marc needs very little in the way of introduction from me," said Northampton Town manager Jon Brady speaking to the Cobblers’ website.

"Anyone who watched him play last season will know what he can bring to the team and the role he can play. Marc was statistically right at the very top of midfielders in League Two last season and one of the top performing players in the division across all positions.

The Scotland under 21 international began his career with Heart of Midlothian before joining Brighton in 2021 -  he made his senior debut for the Seagulls in August 2021 when he started against Cardiff City in the EFL Cup.
