Shamrock Rovers confirm signing of Ireland youth international Scarlett Herrron
Shamrock Rovers have announced the signing of Republic of Ireland under 19 international Scarlett Herron from Athlone Town.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be signing for Shamrock Rovers,” Herron said, speaking to the club’s website.
“I am looking forward to a new challenge with the club.
“Rovers provide a very professional environment and have an extremely high calibre of players and coaches which will only help me improve as a young player. I am really excited to get going after the mid-season break.”
The Monaghan native arrives at Rovers as the current Ireland under 19 International Player of the Year and she brings a wealth of experience despite her young age.
The 18 year old made her Women’s Premier Division debut in April 2022 for Peamount United before making the switch to Athlone Town in July of that year.
She went on to make 32 appearances in all competitions for Athlone and joins Rovers as they push to get back into the title race after the mid-season break.
Shamrock Rovers Head Coach Collie O’Neill is pleased to complete the signing – he told the Shamrock Rovers’ website: “I am delighted Scarlett has signed for us. She is a player with great potential and will add a different dimension to our team. I am really looking forward to working with her over the next few months.”
