Notts County has announced the completion of a season-long loan signing of 19-year-old defender Ollie Tipton from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Tipton recently spent time on trial at Notts County and officially joined the club earlier today.

The Notts County board of directors expressed their pleasure in securing Tipton for the season and extended gratitude to Wolves for entrusting the club with Tipton's further development.

“We’re really pleased to add Ollie to our ranks for the duration of the campaign and would like to thank Wolves for entrusting us with his development," they told their official website.

“We were keen to add another defensive option to the squad and Ollie has all the qualities we look for in that area," the statement continued.

“While we see him primarily as a central defender, his ability in possession means he’s also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder. His versatility could prove crucial over the course of a long campaign and we look forward to seeing how he progresses in his time with us.”

Tipton joined the Wolves academy at the age of 11 and has since ascended the ranks, serving as the captain of the Under-18s and Under-21s teams.

He signed a contract with Wolves until 2025, following him making his senior debut against Crewe in the 2021-22 EFL Trophy.
