Rangers have announced the signing of Brazilian striker, Danilo Pereira Da Silva from Feyenoord.

Subject to international clearance, the 23-year-old has agreed to a five-year contract, becoming the eighth new recruit for manager Michael Beale's squad ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Da Silva's journey began in Brazil before he carved a successful career in Dutch football with stints at Ajax, FC Twente, and Feyenoord.

The forward has had a taste of championship glory, boasting two Eredivisie titles to his name - first with Ajax in the 2021/22 season and then with Feyenoord in the previous season.

Following his signing, Da Silva expressed his enthusiasm about the move to Rangers.

"I’m super happy. I can’t wait to start playing at Ibrox in front of the supporters. I am so in love already with the club and I’m excited to be part of the Rangers team. It’s time to get to work and I hope that I can repay the love that they have shown to me," he told www.rangers.co.uk

Rangers' manager, Michael Beale, has had his eye on Da Silva since his Ajax days.

Beale acknowledged Da Silva's promising career trajectory, stating, "He had a breakthrough year on loan at FC Twente and then back at Ajax before joining Feyenoord last summer."

Recognizing his prowess on the field, Beale added, “He has won the Dutch title in both of the last two seasons and his goal per minute ratio is very good. He is an exciting player who likes to create and score goals, he is one that I believe is a good fit for our squad and he will give us another big option in the attacking areas of the pitch."

With negotiations taking time, Beale expressed relief and satisfaction with the final outcome.

“Danilo really wanted this move and has a strong belief in the plan that we have for him and for the team moving forward - this was key in the negotiations as he really pushed to join Rangers. We wish him every success here at Rangers.”
