League Preview: Kerry -v- Finn Harps
KERRY
First Division basement battlers Kerry have a task on their hand when they welcome Finn Harps to Mounthawk Park (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Kingdom reached the second round of the FAI Cup last weekend thanks to a 2-0 win at home to Ringmahon Rangers.
And their reward in doing so has handed them a plum tie at home to Premier Division Drogheda United in the next round of the competition.
But they have also added to their squad since then, with Arthur Nganou joining the club from Munster Senior League side Midleton.
And boss Billy Dennehy said: “We are delighted to have him on board, I think he showed a great desire within himself as a player to get his career back on track by wanting to come down here.
“Now that he is in he has the opportunity to maximise the platform and hopefully go on to improve week by week. I’m sure everyone here will welcome Arthur to Kerry.”
FINN HARPS
Finn Harps will be hoping that they can take a step towards the play-offs on Friday night when they visit Mounthawk Park.
Dave Rogers’ side have endured a patchy campaign and sit outside the play-off positions at this stage.
But a number of new recruits have added to their squad in recent weeks.
They have also reached the second round of the FAI Cup following a narrow first round win over Kilbarrack United in the last round.
They will now play Skerries Town in the second round with hopes of reaching the last eight.
But for now they must continue their league season against the Kingdom.
Ryan Rainey remains a long-term absentee for Harps.
Referee: Jason Moore.
