Kerry sign goalkeeper Arthur Nganou
Kerry have signed Cork goalkeeper Arthur Nganou, 23, from Midleton.
The shot-stopper's contract was inked earlier this week, following which he exhibited an impressive performance in a charity friendly against Killarney Celtic, keeping a clean sheet.
Nganou spent four years at Academy level at Cobh Ramblers, where he played for the 17s and 19s, and later landed a soccer scholarship at the University of Cork (UCC).
Although he signed for the seniors at Cobh Ramblers, he didn't get to debut. He spent the recent part of his career at Midleton FC and will now be donning the number 16 shirt for Kerry.
Sharing his enthusiasm, Nganou stated, “Joining Kerry FC as a new club in the LOI presents a unique and exciting opportunity for me. I see this as a chance to be a part of a passionate group of individuals determined to make a mark in the soccer world... I am eager to work hard and prove myself as a valuable asset to the team.”
Billy Dennehy, First Team Manager, expressed his confidence in the new recruit, saying, “I knew very quickly that he was a player that had a lot of pedigree in relation to being at a different level and having a lot of pedigree for a young player... his composure and ability was truly on show."
"So we are delighted to have him on board... Now that he is in he has the opportunity to maximise the platform and hopefully go on to improve week by week."
