Anthony Elanga makes move to Nottingham Forest from Manchester United
Nottingham Forest has completed the signing of Swedish international forward, Anthony Elanga, from Premier League side Manchester United.
The 21-year-old has committed to a five-year contract with Forest, keeping him at The City Ground until the summer of 2028.
Elanga, a native of Malmö, Sweden, comes with an impressive track record, having already scored in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League over his 55 appearances for Manchester United.
He climbed the ranks through United’s youth system after joining the club in 2014 and was awarded the club's Young Player of the Year award in 2020.
The talented forward made his professional debut against Leicester the following year and scored his first senior goal for United in a Premier League victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He also netted his first UEFA Champions League goal in a knockout stage match against Atlético Madrid during the 2021/22 campaign.
Already a full international for Sweden, Elanga made his debut in March 2022 and has since earned 12 caps, scoring three goals.
Expressing his excitement, Elanga said: “It’s a pleasure to be here. It’s a proud moment, not only for me, but for my family as well. It’s the perfect next step for me in my career, and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of the Forest fans at The City Ground."
Nottingham Forest's Chief Football Officer, Ross Wilson, also expressed delight at Elanga's decision to join the club.
"Anthony had a number of excellent options in front of him to choose from so we are naturally delighted that from those he has chosen to become a Nottingham Forest player," he said.
Elanga's signing marks Nottingham Forest's second acquisition of the summer transfer window, following the recent signing of Ola Aina.
