Juan Delgado signs with Sheffield Wednesday from Paços de Ferreira
Chilean international Juan Delgado has inked a deal with Sheffield Wednesday, marking his transition from Portuguese side Paços de Ferreira.
This move reunites Delgado with the Owls' new manager, Xisco, after previously working together at Spanish club Gimnàstic de Tarragona where Xisco served as the manager in 2016.
Delgado, who is primarily a right-back but also proficient in a wing-back role, brings a wealth of experience to Sheffield Wednesday.
His career began with Chilean top-flight club Colo Colo, where he contributed to their league title victory in 2014.
Delgado also had stints with Gimnàstic, Portuguese team CD Tondela on loan, Mexican outfit Necaxa, and most recently, Paços de Ferreira.
Having earned his stripes at the Under-20 level early in his career, Delgado was later promoted to the senior Chile international team.
Since making his debut against Mexico in 2014, he has earned 13 caps and scored his first international goal three days after his debut against Haiti.
He also featured in Chile's three friendly matches this summer, facing Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Bolivia.
