Norwich City has successfully signed Swiss international winger Christian Fassnacht from BSC Young Boys.

Fassnacht, who primarily plays as a right winger, has committed to a two-year contract with Norwich City, which also retains the option of extending the contract by a year.

Fassnacht arrived at Norwich's Austria training base on Sunday to familiarize himself with his new colleagues.

Speaking about his move to canaries.co.uk, the winger expressed his excitement. "I'm really happy to sign for Norwich City. To challenge myself outside of Switzerland, in this club, for me, it is a dream come true," Fassnacht said.

The 29-year-old winger had been a key figure for Young Boys since 2017, contributing to their victorious run in the Swiss league - their first in 32 years.

During his time at Young Boys, he racked up 75 goals in 251 appearances. His performance includes scoring four goals for the Swiss national team in 19 international appearances.

The new Norwich City recruit is expected to bring his proven goal-scoring abilities to the club, promising to contribute goals and assists to make the fans happy.

"I know the head coach very well. Of course, this was a big part of my decision to come to the club. We talked a lot and he gave me a really good feeling to make this move," he added.

David Wagner, the head coach of Norwich City, expressed his delight over the signing, stating, "We are absolutely delighted to bring Christian here to Norwich City. He is a player I know very well, a top professional and he was desperate to come join us and test himself with a new experience. He has a track record, with many goals and assists at the top level in Switzerland and for the national team."
