Colm Cox joins Drogheda United from Wexford
Drogheda United have unveiled the signing of goalkeeper Colm Cox from First Division play-off chasers Wexford.
Cox, 22, joins the Drogs after a frustrating campaign at Ferrycarrig Park as he found gametime limited under boss James Keddy.
The former Shelbourne youth played under Keddy as his assistant manager at Longford Town last season but he failed to become Keddy’s first-choice keeper at Wexford.
However, he did play twice in the league for Slaneysiders and also featured in the Leinster Senior Cup.
Cox becomes the fourth signing made in the transfer window by Drogs manager Kevin Doherty with Jamie Egan, Kyle Robinson and Luke Wade Slater all joining.
He initially came through Shelbourne's underage system, making his first team debut in the final game of the 2021 season as a substitute against UCD.
Cox made the move to Longford Town during the 2022 season before signing for James Keddy's Wexford side ahead of the 2023 campaign.
We wish Colm Cox the best of luck as he makes the switch to Drogheda United
