Accrington Stanley has announced the signing of four new players over the last few days.

These new additions include striker Josh Andrews from Birmingham City, defender Lewis Shipley from Norwich City, midfielder Lewis Trickett from their own youth academy, and defender Kelvin Mellor from Crewe Alexandra.

Josh Andrews, 21, was signed on a season-long loan from Birmingham City.

Andrews, who previously had loan spells at Harrogate Town, Rochdale, and Doncaster Rovers, has made an impression with his physicality and technical skills.

Similarly, Lewis Shipley, a left-footed defender from Norwich City, was also loaned for a season.

Shipley, 19, who has played a considerable part in Premier League 2 appearances for Norwich, is expected to bolster Stanley's defence.

Stanley's Academy product Lewis Trickett, 18, has signed his first professional contract.

Trickett, an attacking midfielder with a knack for scoring goals, has represented the Northern Ireland Under-18 and Under-19 teams.

Finally, Accrington Stanley also roped in experienced defender Kelvin Mellor on a one-year contract from Crewe Alexandra.

The 32-year-old Mellor has previously had stints at Plymouth Argyle, Blackpool, and Morecambe, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the Stanley backline.

John Coleman, the manager of Accrington Stanley, expressed his excitement about the new additions to the team.

Speaking about Josh Andrews, Coleman said, "Josh is a strong target man and we've had him on our radar for some time. His dedication to the game, especially after his recovery from an injury last season, is impressive. This is an opportunity for him to make his mark in the first team and I'm confident he'll have a good season with us."

Regarding defender Lewis Shipley, Coleman commented, "Lewis is highly respected at Norwich, and his skills are just what we need in a left-footed defender. He's already made an impression in training and I'm hopeful that he'll shine in the first team."

When discussing midfielder Lewis Trickett, the manager said, "Lewis is tricky by name and nature. He's a talented player who can score goals, as he's shown repeatedly for the youth team. He needs to get a little bit stronger and we're committed to helping him in that area."

About the experienced Kelvin Mellor, Coleman said, "Kelvin brings a wealth of experience to our young defence. He's a great organiser and communicator, qualities that will be invaluable to our team. He's been promoted from League Two multiple times, so he knows what it takes to succeed at this level."
