Bogdan Vastsuk leaves Sligo Rovers as Longford Town and Finn Harps confirm departures

Premier Division outfit Sligo Rovers have confirmed the departure of Bogdan Vastsuk from the club after a short stint at the Showgrounds.

Vastsuk, 27, is an 11-time Estonian international but has fallen out of favour under John Russell in recent weeks.

The midfielder made just eight appearances in 24 games for the Bit O’ Red having joined from Stal Mielec in the Polish top-flight.

A brief 18-word statement from Sligo Rovers read: “Sligo Rovers can confirm that Bogdan Vastsuk has left the club today after his contract was mutually terminated.”

Meanwhile, Longford Town have also revealed that former Bray Wanderers striker Darragh Lynch has left.

Lynch, 19, joined De Town from the Seagulls during the off-season but was unable to force his way into boss Stephen Henderson’s plans.

He leaves the Red and Black having scored once in 12 games.

“Longford Town can confirm that Darragh Lynch has departed the club.,” a statement read.

“We'd like to thank Darragh for his efforts in the Red and Black and wish him all the best for the future.”

Elsewhere, Finn Harps confirmed Filip Da Silva’s exit.

Brazilian Da Silva, 19, played 20 times for Harps and scored four goals during that period.

“Finn Harps can confirm that Filip Da Silva has left the club by mutual agreement,” a post on social media read.

“The club would like to thank Filip for his commitment and professionalism during his time at Finn Park and wish him all the best for the future.”
