Fulham has announced that Willian has agreed to return to the club, signing a new contract that will keep him at Craven Cottage until 2024.

Expressing his happiness about the contract extension, Willian stated to FFCtv, "I'm completely happy. Happy to sign one more year with Fulham. Happy to continue the work that I did last season with all my teammates and the whole Club. I think it's a club that can do even better this season, so I'm happy to continue this amazing adventure."

Tony Khan, acknowledging Willian's importance to the team, shared his excitement about the player's return.

Khan said, "I'm thrilled that Willian will return to Fulham for at least one more season! He was a very important addition last summer and was a significant contributor during one of the most successful Premier League campaigns our club has ever had. We're all very excited that he'll return to Craven Cottage as we aim for another successful season in the Premier League together!"

Willian initially joined Fulham on the final day of the previous summer's transfer window, making his debut as a substitute in a match against Tottenham Hotspur two days later.

He quickly made his mark, providing his first assist in the following game, a 3-2 victory against Nottingham Forest.

The Brazilian winger scored his first goal for the club in the same month, securing a 1-0 win over Leeds United.

Throughout the season, Willian showcased his consistency and contributed significantly to the team's success.

He scored a total of five goals, including one that was awarded the Premier League's Goal of the Month and Fulham's Goal of the Season. Additionally, he provided six assists in 27 top-flight starts.

Born on August 9, 1988, Willian began his football journey at Corinthians before making a significant move to Shakhtar Donetsk in August 2007, commanding a transfer fee of €14 million.

During his impressive six-year stint at the Ukrainian club, he achieved numerous accolades, including four Ukrainian Premier League titles and the UEFA Cup in 2009. In 2013, he had a brief spell with Anzhi Makhachkala before joining Chelsea in a £30 million transfer deal.

At Chelsea, he experienced considerable success, winning the Premier League and League Cup in his second season in England.

He made his debut for the Brazilian national team in 2011 and has since represented his country in prestigious tournaments such as the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.

Additionally, he participated in the 2015 Copa América, the Copa América Centenario, and the 2019 Copa América, where Brazil emerged victorious on home soil.
