Liverpool FC Women have announced the addition of Teagan Micah to their squad.

The Australian goalkeeper, formerly of FC Rosengard, joins the team under the direction of coach Matt Beard.

This news follows her successful stint in Sweden since 2021, where she was part of the team that won two consecutive league titles.

Micah, currently part of the Australian squad for the Women’s World Cup, is set to play her first match against the Republic of Ireland this week.

After an impressive college career in the USA at UCLA, Micah had spells with Norwegian clubs Arna-Bjonar and Sandviken, as well as a stint with Melbourne City in her native Australia.

Besides her performance in domestic leagues, Micah also gained Champions League experience during her tenure at Rosengard.

In a recent interview with Liverpoolfc.com, Micah expressed her excitement about the move: “It’s Liverpool Football Club, so it’s massive and I’m just really excited for this next chapter in my career."

Micah believes the move to the Women's Super League (WSL) will be instrumental in her development.

"For me, it was also about getting into the WSL – I know it’s turning into the best league in the world. To be able to compete against the best players in the world is really important for myself, for my career."

She is eager to contribute to the team's future success and believes her addition will encourage more Australians to follow the club.

She stated, “Liverpool are a massive club around the world, so hopefully with another Aussie at the club they can get around it even more."

Liverpool's manager, Matt Beard, was equally pleased about Micah's signing, considering her a valuable addition to the team.

“We feel we’re getting Teagan at a very good time – at the peak of her career – and we’re looking forward to working with her," he said.

Beard further acknowledged her experience at a young age and how her presence will add a different dynamic to their current goalkeeping setup.

He added, “She’s completely different to the goalkeepers we’ve got and she’s going to be a great addition to the squad.”

Micah is the fourth new player to join Liverpool FC Women this summer, following the arrivals of Natasha Flint, Jenna Clark, and Mia Enderby.
