Brentford have confirmed that Halil Dervisoglu has left the club to permanently sign for Galatasaray for an undisclosed fee.

The striker joined the Bees from Sparta Rotterdam in January 2020 but found first team opportunities hard to come by and made just twelve appearances for the club.

Along with loan spells at FC Twente and Burnley the Turkish international made 40 appearances for his new club during two loan spells.

“I’m sure that Halil will be disappointed that he leaves us having not played for Brentford anywhere near as much as he would have wanted,” Brentford Director of Football Phil Giles said, speaking to the club’s website.

“However, he has spent some time at Galatasaray already, is a Turkish international, and now has the chance to kick on with his career at a very big club. Everyone at Brentford wishes him every success in the future.”
