Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed an agreement with FCV Farul Constanta for the acquisition of Adrian Mazilu.

The promising 17-year-old Romanian winger will officially join Brighton in January 2024, following all necessary regulatory approvals.

Mazilu, a rising talent in Romanian football, has played at all junior team levels from under-15 to under-21 for his country. Recently, he represented Romania at the European Under-21 Championships.

Brighton's technical director, David Weir, addressed the agreement in an official statement.

"Adrian is a player we have been watching for a while, and we are now looking forward to him joining us next year,” Weir noted.

He also confirmed that Brighton will continue to monitor Mazilu's performance until January when they will finalize his role within the club.

Since making his debut for Constanta in the Romanian Cup last November, Mazilu has played in 23 senior-level games and scored seven goals.
