American winger Christian Pulisic has been signed to AC Milan from Chelsea.

Born in Hershey, USA, Pulisic has entered a contract with the Rossoneri that will last until June 30, 2027, and comes with the potential to extend his stay until June 30, 2028.

Pulisic made his debut in professional football in January 2016 with Borussia Dortmund, having 127 appearances and 19 goals to his credit, as well as winning a German Cup.

His move to Chelsea FC in January 2020 marked another significant phase in his career, with 145 appearances, 26 goals, and the laurels of winning a Champions League, a European Super Cup, and a Club World Cup.

His international career also boasts impressive credentials, with 60 caps for the USA's American national team, scoring 25 goals, and securing the CONCACAF Nations League title twice.

Upon his signing, Pulisic has opted for the number 11 jersey, a number previously worn by football legend Zlatan Ibrahimović.

Pulisic expressed his joy at the press conference at Milanello, stating, "I’m delighted to be here, and I’m excited and honoured. Everything truly is special at AC Milan. You can breathe in the history, and you just want to come here."

Speaking about his selection of the number 11 shirt, Pulisic acknowledged the legend Ibrahimović but clarified, "I don’t want to compare myself to Ibra or fill the void left by such a great champion, but it was free and I chose it."

Pulisic also reflected on his past two seasons at Chelsea, stating that they were complicated and he wasn't able to fully demonstrate his capabilities. He expressed excitement about starting afresh at a big club like AC Milan.

In his new role, Pulisic aims to contribute to AC Milan's strong and competitive attack.

He shared, "I’ve often played out wide, especially on the right flank, but I can also cover other positions, like the attacking playmaker role."
