The Avenir Sports All-Island Cup Final will be hosted at The Showgrounds in Sligo on Sunday 23 July.

The final is being contested between Cliftonville and Galway United with the Belfast team being the designated home team following a draw.

Cliftonville overcame Cork City after wins over Sion Swifts and Bohemians and a draw with Sligo Rovers saw them progress from Group C to the semi-final.

Caitlin McGuinness scored the only goal of the semi to take the Reds to the final and end Cork City’s involvement in the competition.

Meanwhile Galway United defeated Wexford Youths in their semi-final after they topped Group A after wins over Linfield and Shelbourne and drew with Athlone Town to secure a meeting with Wexford Youths.

United had to come from behind at Ferrycarrig Park to bring the game to penalties with Kate Thompson cancelling out Rianna Jarret’s goal.

Phil Trill’s side won 4-3 on penalties with Gemma McGuinness converting the winning penalty to give United a chance at some silverware.
