Aston Villa Women have announced the permanent signing of Anna Patten.

The 24-year-old defender has signed a three-year contract with Villa, marking the end of her stint with Arsenal.

Patten, who started her journey with Arsenal at the age of 12, has had two successful loan spells at Villa.

Initially, she joined Villa on a short-term loan in 2022 and later returned for the entire 2022/23 campaign after her move to the USA to play college football.

Her time at Arsenal was marked with 31 appearances and two goals.

"Patsy has had two successful loan spells and has already played a big part in our journey so far. We're delighted she's enjoyed her time here and wants to continue, as we see her playing a significant part in our next steps," said Aston Villa Women's manager, Carla Ward, expressing her enthusiasm for Patten's signing.

In her time at Villa, Patten has already made 33 appearances across all competitions over two seasons.

Arsenal expressed its gratitude for Patten's contributions during her tenure. "Everybody at the club would like to thank Anna for her efforts during her time with Arsenal. We wish her well for this next chapter and look forward to welcoming her back to Meadow Park and Emirates Stadium soon."
